Who's there? What are you doing here? I was just walking by, and saw you dancing. -You are really good. -Thanks. I just moved in next door. Oh, cool. So do you dance? Me? Dance? No way, that's for girls. No, it's not. My mom has a dance studio, and there are tons of boys there. Men, in tights? Not manly at all. Who said you had to wear tights to dance? I don't know, I saw that on TV.
Come here. Do a step with me. No, I'm okay. Thank you, though. What, you scared? No, I'm not scared. I can do everything you did and better. I just don't want to, I'm a man. Oh, really. So let me see you do your two step, man. Okay. One, and two. There you go. My mama's right. You men, are all the same, no matter what age. -What's that? -You are punks. I didn't even push you that hard. Yes you did. I cut my hand. My dad was right. All you women are the same, no matter what age.
-What's that? -You're all drama queens. -Hey Dad, how you doing? -Hey. So, you are making new friends, honey? Not even. Just a nosy new neighbor. Oh, yeah? Hey, I thought I heard your voice. I thought you aren't gonna be home till later tonight. I have Willy cover my shift so I could come home. I'm exhausted. Is dinner ready? No, but I can have you something ready in 15 minutes. -Okay, I will take a shower. -Okay. Come on, Selena. Let's get you washed up. Well, well, well, isn't this Betty Crocker? Mhm, that's right. You are introducing yourself to the neighbors? Yeah, it's only right. We already been here for a week. Maybe you'll make a new friend, 'cause the Lord knows how bored you are. Well know, I wouldn't be this bored if my husband would let me get a job.
Hm, you already have a job. You are a housewife. And besides, I'm making money for the both of us. Tristian, come say hello to the new neighbors. Come on, mom. I don't want to meet them. I already met their crazy daughter. Tristian... Fine. You coming, honey? I'll pass. You know that I got a work I got to finish. Of course... But don't you forget you got a wife here. And a son. Hush now. You know I love you. And I will make time. I promise. Tristian, why don't you come to the office with me tomorrow and help me out with the new accountant. -Really, Dad? -Yeah, of course. Come on Tristian, let's go. I wonder who that is? -Hi. -Hi. I'm Mrs. Hamilton, we just moved next door, and we just thought we'd like to come and introduce ourselves.
-Oh, hello. Come on in. -Thank you. Here, for you. Wow, thank you. That's very kind of you. Selena! Mya! Come, come, meet the new neighbor. They brought us cookies. Oh, brother. Selena, that is so rude. What's wrong with you? I know you have better manners than that. Hi, I'm Mya. Nice meeting you. Much better, thank you. Tristian, say hello. Hi. Well, I think it's my turn to apologize. I'm sorry. What is it with you two? He pushed me earlier.
-Did not. -Did too. -Did not. -Did too. Is that true, Tristian? Yes. I mean... But no, I didn't... Yes, or no? Yes. Boy, you know I did not raise you that way. And wait till your father hears about this. -I'm sorry. -I'm not the one you need to apologize to. Whatever. I'm so sorry. This is so embarrassing. Definitely not the way I wanted to introduce ourselves. No, it's okay. I'm sure he didn't mean anything by that. Are you sure you don't wanna come in and have a seat. We are just watching TV. Oh, thank you. I have to get going. Work, you know. Okay, well let me introduce you to my husband. Honey! Selena, where is your dad? He said he had to take an important call for work, so he went upstairs.
Well, I'm sure he did. Um... Thank you so much for coming over, and the cookies and welcome to the neighborhood. Thank you. Oh, I also have a studio across the street. You are more then welcome to have Tristian come over and take some dance classes. That would be great. Tristian, honey, didn't you say you were interested in dance? -No, I didn't. -Yes, you did. -When we moved we drove by the studio... -Mom! No, I didn't. Okay, you didn't. I'm sorry. It was a pleasure meeting you all, and we'll see you again. -Okay. -Okay. -Bye! -Bye! Bye! Bye, Tristian. What are you doing here? Your mom offered me a summer job. Well you're gonna have to wait because I'm in the middle of rehearsing. Well I'm sorry, I'm on form three to four, and it's three o'clock. My mom owns the studio, so I can do whatever I want. Fine, and so can I. Hey! What do you want? Nothing.
Look, I'm sorry about the whole drama queen thing. Really? Yeah. Well, then I'm sorry about the whole punk thing. No big deal. Friends? Yeah, friends. You know, you are really good at dancing. Thanks, I've been doing it since I was three. I thought dancing was just ballet and twirling and all that. That's a pirouette. Pr... A what? A pirouette. And yes, I've been doing ballet, jazz and tap. But I love hip-hop. Well, I've got a lot of homework to do. I'll see you later? Yeah, later. Bye! You think you can just waltz in here any hour of the night that you want to? And not call, nothing? Courtney, this is crazy, alright? What's wrong with you? -I'm gonna go take a shower. -Oh, no! No! I can smell her on you. -You think I can't but I can. -Oh come on.
-Smell really? -Yes, I can. I know you've been with that ho. -You going crazy or what? -No, I'm not going crazy. I haven't been with anyone. You always insinuating that I'm with someone else. -No, I am not insinuating. Do I look crazy? -No. No. Now I smell like somebody. What are you doing here? Really? My parents are fighting. Do you mind if I come in? Um, sure. Tonight was a bad one. My parents fight too. It's usually not too bad, but... no big deal. My parents do it every night. Really? So like, where do you go? What do you do when they fight? I don't. This is the first time I've left when they did it.
You said we were friends now so I just came by to see if you were... ...up. I'm up. Would you mind if I slept here? Like on the floor? Yeah, that's cool just... Don't tell my mom. She'll freak out. Yeah. Mom's have a tendency to do that. You can come over whenever it gets too rough, I don't mind. Thanks. Good night. Yo! Are we answering the Blake Andrews contest? He's looking for a dance group to go on tour with him. He's running a competition by going to the local dance schools to discover new talent. Get this. The winning team gets to go on tour with him and a 100,000 dollars.
Can you imagine going on tour with Blake Andrews? He's almost as big as Justin... Bieber. Oh god. Are you serious? -You think what I'm thinking? -Oh yeah. How do we enter it? First round is submitting a video. If we get chosen then he comes to our school and we audition in front of him. Only five videos will be chosen. It's all in his website, girls. Okay. Listen. We got this. You know what? Let's get a male dancer. Yeah, that'd be hot. Alright. You come up with like dope ass choreography, and I'll come up with the rest. Okay. Alright ladies. I'm out. Let's let the crew know tomorrow, and lets get on the say-say. A hundred thousand dollars man. You think we can do it? Yes. Of course we can. You know who's gonna give us a run for our money? Ivy Johnson's school. Screw Ivy okay? She's good. Really good. But, we're better. We got this girl. Ma, you okay? -Yes. -Where's Dad? He had to work late.
So you not gonna eat with us? And you wonder why I don't date. Stop Mya. He's never gonna change, Selena. You don't know that. So, what's going on with you and Tristian? Nothing. He's my best friend. That's all. Uh huh. So you're gonna tell there's nothing going on between the two of you? No. He's never come on to you? No! We're friends Mya. Just friends. Besides, he's not even my type.
Sure he ain't. Weren't you just talking about not trusting men? Yeah, but I wasn't talking about you and Tristian. Okay. I'm changing this conversation. Ah ah. Somebody's blushing. So, can I stay the night tonight? Not tonight babe. You know I have a lot of work to do. Are you ever gonna let me stay the night? Hey girl.
Hey. Your routine was cute. So is Tristian working today? I don't know. Come on. Your mom's his boss. You have to know. Hm. Well, I don't know. I have a little... Message for him. Aww. His little bestie getting jealous? No. Right. You just make sure he gets my message. Toodles. Is Tristian working today? Got a minute? Yeah sure Dad. What's up? I just want to... Ask you, why you still working at that school? I know you're not taking dance seriously. I got that. And I know you'll make enough money working with me. I write your cheques. Dad, It's not a big deal. I enjoy it. Have you started writing your essays yet? You know, top tier business schools do not just let anyone in. Yeah, Dad. I'm gonna take care of it this week.
Look. You know you're gonna be taking over the family business. Where you get your MBA is important to the clients as well as to the stockholders. Yeah dad. Can't wait. I just don't want you to get distracted. Or lose focus. Yeah I know, Dad. I won't let you down. I know. Way to go. That was dope. How long you been watching? Long enough.
Hey. You busy? Why? You need another dancer for the competition? Hey, youre surprisingly not so bad, you got rhythm. How much you know about the competition? That you got a great shot at winning it. Why are you being so nice? No, I'm serious. You really got a good shot at it. Well thank you. Means a lot. And I need a ride. Can you take me please? Say, "Please master." Shut up. Fine then. Ride yourself. Oh that's right. You can't.
'Cause your car broke down. Please, master. Yeah, that's better. What's that? Some note one of your little groupies left me. What? Was it Sonya? I know it's Carly 'cause Carly's been looking at me. I saw her. Give me that. Let me read it. "Tristian. I think you are so sexy. I've been wanting to take you out on a date.
My treat. I promise you won't regret it." Ha-ha. Seriously? How much lower can your standards be? What? At least she doesn't tease a brother. She gets straight to the point. What's that supposed to mean. You know what it is. Anyways. Thanks for the ride. Hey, why don't you go for good girls? Like, classy girls? The girls I go with are classy. Thank you. Oh come on. You don't really believe that. I don't know. Look, I mean... How am I supposed to know who's classy and who's not, with everyone running around being deceitful and playing games? Ah, that's the easy part. The Selena Test.
Ah, the Selena Test. Ha-ha. So what? Well, the Selena test is when you wanna find out if someone is looking for one thing. Especially on the first date. Things are getting a little you know, hot and heavy. Put on the brakes, and let 'em know you wanna get to know them first. Just be with them. Cuddle with them. Kiss them. That's it. That's it? Everything is in the reaction. All right. Are they tense? Do they wanna be there? Are they checking the clock every two seconds? Are they bored? Are they impossible to talk to? Are they engaged? See, you can get sex and have sex and all that is cool and all. Finding that chemistry. That spark. That burn. You just got to see if they pass the test. "The Selena Test." Girl you tripping. Boy, you got some nerve. Mom, what's wrong with you? What is that doing in my bedroom? Well if your having sex in my bedroom, I swear Tristian, You gonna have to leave.
Mom, I promise. I'm not having sex in your room. I swear. Look, She probably just went in there to change, that's all. Let this be the last time that this happens. Or else. Yeah I know, Mom. I'm sorry. How's Selena? Now that's the kind of girl you need to be dating. She's beautiful. Educated. Focused. Exactly what you need. Mom, we're just friends. Yeah, for too damn long. Your my son. I know you. Better than you think I do. Where's Dad? He's in the room. Working. As always. Yeah, I'm finishing this Months-end closing now. You don't seem too excited. I think you know me better than I think you do. Tristian, you know you don't have to... Put up with all this stuff and do what your dad wants? -Mom, It's okay. -Hush. Let me tell you something. As far as your father's concerned, I didn't say nothing. You do what makes you happy. Your passion. Not your dad's. Just to make him proud. And if you don't know what that is... then find it. But don't stay stuck living up someone else's dream and never finding your own.
You always know what to say, Mom. Do you have some special mom book or something? Yeah, I wish parenting came with an instruction book. But no, Son. No secret book. Just a mother's instincts. Love you, Mom. Love you too. Get out. Get the hell out of my house. What is wrong with you? Get off of me. Do not touch me. I'm done. Calm down, baby. Please calm down. Do not tell me to calm down. Could you keep your voice down? Yo, what up. Hey. Yo! My mom found your shirt in the laundry again. Oh my God. My bad. She still doesn't know. Does she? Why do you care if people know? Cause it's my business and my family's and... Cause I don't want the whole world knowing how dysfunctional the Carrions are. I guess. I don't want her think that we're "doing it" in here or something. Are you kidding me? My mom would throw a party if she thought that...
Me and you... You good? Where ere you headed off to? Just school. They're holding auditions for the Blake Andrews contest. Huh. Alright. Why don't you have Tristian go out with you in case you stay out late. I am not entertaining this conversation. Besides, I have a hot date tonight. Oh. Excuse me. -See you later, Mom. -Bye baby. How's the Johnson account coming? It's good, I guess. They are losing money, though. It's second story big bill. I told them it wasn't a good idea. Gonna have to setup a meeting with him. So... have you finished the essays and send out the applications? -Yeah, Dad. -Well great. We should be hearing something soon then. You know. I um... Spoke to Dean. Told him to look out for yours. So secretary should be calling you and setting up with you soon. Sounds good. I gotta get to work, Dad. You are at work, son. My other work. I will be home for dinner.
Okay. We'll talk about spreadsheets later. That was so right there. We need you. You are amazing. -Are you available next Saturday? -Yeah. Of course. Awesome, we'll probably have about three rehearsals before the show on Saturday. I am in. I give you a call next week with all the details. -Perfect, thanks. -Thank you. Thank you. Oh my God. This is gonna be so hot. I know. We finally have a great guy and I really really wanna showcase him.
-Lemme show you what I have been working on. -Okay. Yes. Yes. Great. So, that's your little amateur routine for the competition? It's amateur night at the Carrions. That was pathetic. What do you want Ivy? Ah. Just coming by to say good luck. We don't need any luck. Actually you do. Because the only team that's going home with that money prize and going on tour with Blake, is my team. You won't even make it past the first round. You won't make it to the first round if you keep talking to her like that. Eh. Enough. It's time to go now. What do I talk about? I don't know. Just be yourself. Why am I doing this again? To make Tristian jealous. You are right. Oh. Look at you. You look beautiful. Thanks, Mom. Mya picked it out. So, how were the auditions yesterday? Good. I mean we found a great guy. The rest weren't so good. Don't worry about it, you will find all the dancers you need.
So, who is the lucky guy tonight? -Tristian? -No, Mom. She is going on a blind date tonight. Oh. Blind date? Well that's playing with fire. Good to see you smile again. Yeah. You know? I have to realize sometime in life that you have to make yourself happy before you can be happy with someone else. I am getting there trust me, I am getting there. And I want you to remember, no matter what your dad does, there is a lot of great men out there. I mean not all men are dogs. God gets someone for everyone.
And I know that. - Have fun. -Thanks, Mom. Mid-life crisis. Here we come. What? Nothing. I just don't wanna sleep with you. Not yet. I wanna get to know you. Okay. What do you wanna get to know? Seriously Brenda, I mean everything is not always about sex. Okay. What do you wanna do? Oh, since you ask, I thought may be we can just cuddle. Cuddle? Yeah cuddle. Okay. So what kind of movies you like? One's on TV I mean, you know like DVD's and stuff. -You okay? -Yeah cool. Really? Just one little text. It's quick. Quickie. -I will be right back. Blake Andrews will be there himself. Yeah well, I won't. And what about us? Us? Yeah, well, don't worry about that.
You woke me up for that dream too. You know Selena, one day you are actually gonna really have to trust somebody. In order to get your back. The day you do that, is the day I never take my eyes off my dreams. Hey babe. Got a minute? Sure. Just going over routines and last minute costumes in my head. I just want you to know, how proud I am of you. Oh, Mom. Thanks. No, seriously. You have no idea how much joy it brings a mother's heart to watch her little girls grow up and be strong and beautiful women.
You are stronger than me. An oak. You fight and you are standing. I just let the world run over me. Mom. No. Hear me out. Life is gonna offer you a lot of great and wonderful things. And some trials and tribulations. I want you to know, no matter what happens tonight, the same belief that you have. The same standing and the same strength is worth more than anything. Certainly more than a dance studio. You are a beautiful woman. I love you. And I am so proud of you. Would be nice to still win, though, wouldn't it? Oh hell yes. You go out there and kick some ass. Okay babe. Thanks, Mom. It's gonna be a good day. Wake up. It's gonna be a good day, son. I am so proud of you.
Oh yeah, Dad. Why is that? You didn't give up. You know, sacrificing today to make things better for tomorrow, is not a easy choice and you did it. Finally. Listen dancing, everybody has hobbies in life. You don't make your hobbies your life. That's crazy. You will come to many crossroads in life, and you can only choose one path. And I am just so glad you chose the right path. A Stanford Business, is an opportunity that very few get to have. And you, my son, Tristian Desmond Hamilton, you have that opportunity. And you are going to seize it. It is gonna be a great-great day. Your test scores are in the top one percentile. Your GPA is flawless. You've interned at some of the top accounting firms in the country and you helped run your father's boutique firm as well. You got the credentials. You have the grades. You got the recommendations and your father's an Olympus. Really you're...
The kind of person that we look for when we're looking for candidates to represent us in the future. I spoke with your father by phone earlier in the week. He confided in me that attending the MBA program at Stanford has been one of your dreams for many years. I just think that that's outstanding. You know... it's a rare thing to see someone pursue their dreams, and attain them with the strength and vigor that you have Mr. Hamilton, and I admire you for that. Selena, Hello. How are you? This is the Blake Andrews. Mt Andrews. What an honor. We are so exited for the opportunity today. Please, call me Blake. -Of course. -Ah Blake. My team is so honored to perform for you. We know that our routine is dynamic and hot. Just the way you like it. Okay. Well I can't wait to see it. Ha-ha. Of course this will be the other school. Oh, don't be scared.
Ha-ha. Trust me honey. I'm not scared. This is my school. Remember that. Okay ladies, are you ready to show Blake what you got? Oh absolutely. Ha-ha. Alright. I saw you two ladies on Youtube and I gotta say, Kimberly can't stop talking about you two. So... I can't wait to see what you got. Of course.
Let's get it. You don't have a chance. It's gonna be weird isn't it? What? Working for someone else? I suppose.
We still get to do what we love. We still get to teach dance. Yeah, except with someone else's name on the floor, and someone else's name on the tracks. What's in a name. Ha-ha. I thought you said it was ready? What are you talking about? It is ready. Look, especially when we get these mirrors right here. Get your office going. Get you a bar. I got you. Still think you can handle me, Mr. Hamilton? I think you know I can, Mrs. Hamilton. .
