HI DIY Diva Today I’ll show you how to make this african print Kimono top in 15min. It’s quick, easy and so much fun! And you don’t need a sewing pattern for this. This DIY was requested by Christine Ward in my magic wrap skirt video. There are so many different kimono tops so I chose the easiest one to start with You can also shop the fabric I used with 10% discount at Stela Textile Design Studio, check the description box For this tutorial you’ll need 1 yard or meter of african print fabric, fabric scissors, pins, bobbin case, thread and a sewing machine or needle. Fold your fabric double with the wrong side up and then place a large t-shirt on top and fold the bottom. I used size XL Cut the sides and the sleeve at a larger width one one side first and pin it If you want the same lipstick sewing pin holder, shop it below It’s available in pink and black Cut the bottom half way and cut a snippet at the top to mark the middle Since the fabric is flow and soft I pinned the bottom as well before folding it so it doesn’t move Spot the middle and then fold it over Then cut the other part of your Kimono top By doing so I make sure both sides are even Pin the sides before opening it so the fabric doesn’t move Open your top and place the t-shirt on top to cut the shape of the neckline I decided to cut it at a larger width so I started at the 1 inch from the left of the neckline and did the same on the other side Then cut the front a little bit deeper Sew it on the sides and top of the sleeves Hem the neckline, arm openings and bottom and you’re done! And this is the final look.
